Slime seed finder
Pick your slime farm spot and how many slime chunks you want around it, or draw the exact slime-chunk pattern you need. Every match opens on the map.
What kind of slime seed?
Java Edition, every version. Slime chunks depend only on the seed, not on the version or biomes.
The AFK area is every chunk 24–128 blocks from the spot (204 chunks). A typical seed has about 20.

Millions of seeds a second, checked in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.
Find a seed made for slime farms
A slime farm is only as good as the slime chunks around it. Most seeds have about one slime chunk in ten; this finder looks for seeds where your farm's AFK area is packed with them, or where specific chunks are (or are not) slime chunks — for example four slime chunks in a 2×2 square under your base. It checks millions of seeds a second on your own device with the same formula the game uses.
Tips
- Start with the default target and raise it once you see how fast seeds come in.
- Put the AFK spot where you want to build: 0, 0 is spawn-adjacent; any X/Z works.
- Check a result on the slime chunk finder map, and use its sister seeds to choose the biomes.
- Looking for villages, temples or biomes instead? Use the main seed finder.
Questions
What is the AFK area of a slime farm?
Slimes, like other mobs, only spawn between 24 and 128 blocks from the player. Every slime chunk in that ring around your AFK spot adds spawning space, so the finder counts the chunks whose centre lies in it — about 200 chunks, of which a normal seed has around 20.
Does it work for Bedrock?
No. On Bedrock the slime chunks are the same in every world, whatever the seed, so there is nothing to search: use the slime finder map with Bedrock selected to see them.
Which Java versions does a result work in?
Every current Java version: slime chunks depend only on the world seed, not on the version or the biomes, and the formula has not changed in over a decade. (Slimes also spawn in swamps at night, whatever the chunk.)
Why are the seeds so small numbers?
Slime chunks only use the last 48 bits of a seed, so the finder searches those. Adding any multiple of 281,474,976,710,656 to a result gives a sister seed with exactly the same slime chunks but different biomes — open a result on the map and browse its sister seeds to pick the world you like.
How rare is a seed with 40 slime chunks?
About 1 in 36,000 seeds for a typical AFK spot, which the finder checks in well under a second. 44 is about 1 in a million and 48 about 1 in 60 million (seconds to a minute); above 50 the odds reach the billions, so give the search more time or lower the target.
