How to use the Abandoned Camp Finder

Abandoned camps arrived in Minecraft 26.3: a small campsite of tents, barrels and chests left in the woods. Most of the loot is camping gear, but every camp hides a secret chest that can hold diamonds, iron gear and explorer maps to ancient cities, trial chambers and woodland mansions. This finder shows every camp your seed generates.

  1. Type or paste your seed in the seed box (numbers and text seeds both work), then pick your edition and version.
  2. Abandoned camps are marked on the map automatically. Drag to pan, scroll or pinch to zoom, and hover an icon to see its coordinates.
  3. Click an icon to copy the coordinates or a ready-made /tp command, and tick "Completed" to keep track of the ones you have visited.
  4. Use the "Nearest" list in the sidebar to jump straight to the closest ones to spawn or to any X/Z you enter.

Where abandoned camps generate

Camps spawn in wooded and wild biomes: forest, flower forest, birch and old growth birch forest, dappled forest, taigas (taiga, snowy taiga, old growth pine and spruce taiga), windswept forest, cherry grove, meadow, savanna, swamp, sparse and bamboo jungle, wooded badlands and the pale garden. The world is split into regions of 37×37 chunks with one camp attempt each, at least 8 chunks from the region edge, so camps are a few hundred blocks apart where the biome allows.

What's inside

Barrels hold camping supplies (bread, wheat, coal, string, leather, bundles, candles). The common chest adds copper tools and armour, a bow and arrows, a saddle, a spyglass and sometimes a map. The secret chest is the prize: iron, gold and copper ingots, iron armour and spears, potions, diamonds, and explorer maps that point to ancient cities, trial chambers, mineshafts, desert and jungle temples, warm ocean ruins or woodland mansions.

Questions

Which version added abandoned camps?

Java and Bedrock 26.3. Older versions don't generate them, so pick 26.3 or later in the version box.

How accurate is the camp finder?

Positions use the game's own structure placement and biome check. Compared with worlds generated by the official Java server, every camp the finder showed was really there (65 of 65).

Where is the secret chest?

It is hidden inside the camp's layout rather than out in the open; check under and around the tents. It holds the best loot: diamonds, iron gear and explorer maps.

Can I find camps with a command?

Yes, with cheats on: /locate structure minecraft:abandoned_camp on Java (26.3+).
