How to use the Mineshaft Finder

Mineshafts are common underground and generate per chunk with a small probability. The map marks the mineshaft origin; the tunnels branch out from there in all directions.

  1. Type or paste your seed in the seed box (numbers and text seeds both work), then pick your edition and version.
  2. Mineshafts are marked on the map automatically. Drag to pan, scroll or pinch to zoom, and hover an icon to see its coordinates.
  3. Click an icon to copy the coordinates or a ready-made /tp command, and tick "Completed" to keep track of the ones you have visited.
  4. Use the "Nearest" list in the sidebar to jump straight to the closest ones to spawn or to any X/Z you enter.

Questions

How accurate is the mineshaft position?

The marker is the mineshaft's origin chunk (±1 chunk). Tunnels extend up to 80 blocks from there, so dig around the marker between Y 10 and Y 50.

What's special about badlands mineshafts?

In badlands biomes, mineshafts generate at the surface with exposed gold ore — the map labels these as mesa mineshafts.
