Work together as a mining-and-combat partner and a building specialist while an elastic tether keeps you close. Tethered: Breaker and Builder divides survival abilities between two players, making teamwork essential.

Overview

Two players share a 15-meter tether. The Breaker handles mining and combat but cannot place blocks or fluids. The Builder can construct and place fluids but cannot mine blocks or attack. Stretching too far pulls partners back together, and severe overextension causes non-lethal damage. Defeat the Ender Dragon together to win.

Key Features

Asymmetric Roles

  • What Happens: Each player chooses Breaker or Builder when the challenge starts. Each role can be held by one player.

Elastic Tether

  • What Happens: Partners are pulled toward each other beyond 15 meters, with strain damage beyond 18 meters after a short grace period.

Tension Feedback

  • What Happens: A particle beam, sound cues and an on-screen display show four distance states: slack, tense, overstretched and strained.

Recall

  • What Happens: Partners who are very far apart or in different dimensions for too long are brought back together.

Respawn Support

  • What Happens: A partner who dies respawns beside the survivor with temporary protection.

Controller

  • What Happens: The host or an operator uses the AllensCreations Controller to start the challenge and read the rules.

How to Use

  1. Import and enable the pack in a Minecraft Bedrock world.
  2. The host or an operator uses the Controller and chooses Start.
  3. Each player picks a role from the menu.
  4. The Breaker gathers and defends while the Builder constructs. Stay within the leash range.
  5. Defeat the Ender Dragon to win.

Compatibility

  • Minecraft Bedrock Edition: 1.26.40 or newer
  • Experimental features: No experiment requirement detected in the inspected files.
  • Achievements: Likely achievement-friendly. Operator commands require cheats, which disables achievements.

### Added
- **Controller**: The host or an operator starts the challenge from the AllensCreations Controller. Roles and the leash are active only while the challenge is running.
- **Win condition**: Defeating the Ender Dragon ends the challenge.
- **Recall**: Partners who stay more than 64 blocks apart, or in different dimensions, are brought together.

### Improved & Balanced
- **Role choice**: Each role can be held by one player. Players without a role cannot build, mine or fight, and are asked again until they choose.
- **Breaker limits**: Spawn eggs, boats, minecarts, armor stands, item frames, paintings, end crystals and bone meal are now blocked along with buckets and fire. Anything placed anyway is removed and returned.
- **Builder limits**: Builders can no longer hurt anything with bows, tridents or thrown items, or set off TNT.
- **Gentler leash**: The pull is weaker and stays horizontal. Strain damage starts after 3 seconds and never takes you below one heart. Creative and spectator players are not pulled.

### Fixed
- **Pack failed to work**: The pack stopped working after the role menu in current versions of Minecraft. The leash, restrictions and respawn support now work.
- **Role cheating**: Closing the role menu no longer removes restrictions, and roles cannot be changed with the tag command.
- **Lag from distant partners**: Very distant partners no longer cause lag from beam particles.
- **Joining**: Joining the world no longer teleports you to your partner.
- **Restriction messages**: Messages explaining blocked actions now stay on screen.
- **Description**: Removed the claim that the Builder has exclusive crafting.

How to install

  1. Download the file below. On iOS or Android, open it from your Downloads with Minecraft; on Windows, double-click it.
  2. Minecraft imports the pack automatically. Enable it in your world’s settings under Behavior Packs or Resource Packs; an add-on usually needs both.
  3. Playing on a Realm or server? Everyone needs the same packs, and the host has to enable them.
  4. Starting a new world? Choose its seed first: the Seed Map shows villages, structures and biomes near spawn for any Bedrock seed.
