How to use the Trial Chamber Finder
Trial chambers (1.21) generate underground between Y −20 and Y −40 in almost any Overworld biome. Find the closest one for trial keys, ominous vaults, the mace and the breeze.
- Type or paste your seed in the seed box (numbers and text seeds both work), then pick your edition and version.
- Trial chambers are marked on the map automatically. Drag to pan, scroll or pinch to zoom, and hover an icon to see its coordinates.
- Click an icon to copy the coordinates or a ready-made /tp command, and tick "Completed" to keep track of the ones you have visited.
- Use the "Nearest" list in the sidebar to jump straight to the closest ones to spawn or to any X/Z you enter.
Where trial chambers generate
On Java, trial chambers use regions of 34×34 chunks with a 12-chunk separation, so there is roughly one per 544-block square. They can start under almost any Overworld biome except the deep dark, which makes them one of the easiest new structures to reach.
The structure is built from copper and tuff and spans dozens of rooms connected by corridors. It is often cut by caves, so exploring nearby caves at Y −20 to −40 is a good way in. Cartographers also sell trial explorer maps in 1.21+.
Spawners, vaults and the mace
Trial spawners scale with the number of players nearby and drop trial keys when cleared. Each key opens a vault once per player. Vaults give arrows, emeralds, diamonds, enchanted books and the flow and bolt armor trim templates. The breeze drops breeze rods, which craft wind charges and, combined with a heavy core from an ominous vault, the mace.
Ominous trials start when you enter with Trial Omen (from drinking an Ominous Bottle and then entering the chamber). Spawners become harder and drop ominous trial keys for ominous vaults, the only source of heavy cores.

Questions
At what depth are trial chambers?
Between roughly Y −20 and Y −40. Dig down at the marker or look for copper and tuff blocks in nearby caves.
Are trial chambers in Bedrock at the same coordinates?
No. Bedrock uses its own placement, which the finder implements exactly, so pick Bedrock in the edition selector to get Bedrock positions.
Which version added trial chambers?
Minecraft 1.21 (Tricky Trials). The finder needs Java 1.21.1+ or Bedrock 1.21.3+ selected to show them.
How do I get the mace?
Combine a heavy core from an ominous vault with a breeze rod from the breeze at a crafting table. Heavy cores only come from ominous vaults.
Can I open a vault more than once?
Each vault rewards each player once. Bring friends or find more trial chambers on the map for more vault loot.
