Morphing Bracelet

The Morphing Bracelet gives players the ability to morph into different mobs. Simply kill a mob while keeping a bracelet in your inventory to collect its soul and morph into it. To craft this item, you need four Soul Soil blocks and one Soul Glass block.

Morphing Bracelets have durability, and every time you morph into a mob, it consumes some of the bracelet's durability. To repair it, hold your bracelet and stand on Soul Sand or Soul Soil to harness their energy.

Soul Glass

Soul Glass is an "active" variant of Soul Sand, obtainable by smelting Soul Sand in a furnace. It produces a very faint glow in the dark and can be used as a decorative block in builds. It is one of the key ingredients for the Morphing Bracelet and serves as the main energy source for morphing.

Soul in a Bottle

An item that can contain a mob's soul, allowing you to morph into it. You can store a collected soul in an empty bottle (Soul Glass Bottle), allowing players to trade mobs with each other.

To use this item, morph into the desired mob and use the bottle to store the soul of the mob you are currently morphed into. The mob type stored in the bottle is indicated in the item's tooltip.

WARNING: The add-on heavily modifies the player.json file in the behavior pack and the player.entity.json file in the resource pack. This means that any add-on or resource pack that modifies these files could break this add-on. It is not recommended to install this add-on with other add-ons in the same world, as the Morphing Bracelet is not a "modpack-friendly" add-on.

What’s new in the latest update

The author’s notes for the file uploaded .

v0.3.5 Update! (26.50+)

New Morph: Happy Ghast!

  • A friendly version of the Ghast that can be ridden by up to four players. Unlike the real mob, players morphed as the Happy Ghast are still in control when other players are riding on them.
  • Has two variants: Adult and Ghastling. The adult variant has a solid collision box, allowing other players to stand on them. While the ghastling has the ability to breathe underwater.
  • Since harnesses are considered "equipment", harness variants have not been added. To compensate for it, the regular adult variant is still rideable even without its harness.
  • Happy Ghast's regeneration ability has not been added yet because the original behavior is hardcoded into the game by Mojang. It will be added in the future once the time is right, ensuring the ability accurately matches the vanilla behavior.

Witch Morph Updates

  • The morph is now 85% more resistant to magic damages.
  • Added the ability to drink and throw infinite potions! The player receives two types of potions upon morphing into the mob: regular and splash potions. Each type has four different potion effects available, and can be switched between by sneaking and using the potion.
    • Regular Potion Effects
      • Healing
      • Fire Resistance
      • Water Breathing
      • Swiftness
    • Splash Potion Effects
      • Harming
      • Poison
      • Slowness
      • Weakness

Sleeping Animation Backend Rework

  • Many sleeping animations have been unified into a single animation to reduce redundancy, since many of them can easily be made just by configuring different variables instead. With the backend rework, implementing custom sleeping animations for new mobs in the future is now much more easy and efficient.
  • Broken sleeping animations for baby models (from the Tiny Takeover drop) have been fixed and adjusted to fully match their sizes.
  • If you found any issues or visual glitches related to sleeping animations, let me know in the official Discord server!

Gameplay Changes

  • Improved squid's swimming animation which rotates based on the direction of its movement.
  • Morph IDs without a namespace will have the vanilla minecraft namespace automatically inserted by default, allowing non-namespaced IDs to be used in the /morph command.

Visual Changes

  • Updated the Ghast morph's icon to match the new texture from the Chase the Skies drop.

Bug Fixes

  • Patched a bug where the Wither morph was not obtainable after it was killed.
  • Players morphed as the Creaking will not be able to transform anymore while currently being in a frozen state.

And 10+ unlisted technical changes!

How to install

  1. Download the file below. On iOS or Android, open it from your Downloads with Minecraft; on Windows, double-click it.
  2. Minecraft imports the pack automatically. Enable it in your world’s settings under Behavior Packs or Resource Packs; an add-on usually needs both.
  3. Playing on a Realm or server? Everyone needs the same packs, and the host has to enable them.
  4. Starting a new world? Choose its seed first: the Seed Map shows villages, structures and biomes near spawn for any Bedrock seed.
