How to use the Pale Garden Finder
The Pale Garden Finder highlights every pale garden in your seed, the grey forest where the creaking lives. Pale gardens arrived in the Garden Awakens drop (Java 1.21.4) and are a rare relative of the dark forest, so the finder dims everything else to make them easy to spot. Pick the version your world uses and copy the coordinates of the nearest one.
- Enter your seed and choose Java 1.21.4 or newer, or Bedrock with a matching version.
- Pale gardens are highlighted as soon as the map loads; zoom out to scan a wider area around spawn.
- Turn on Woodland Mansions in the sidebar: mansions can generate inside pale gardens.
- Hover a grey patch for its coordinates, or copy a link to share the exact view.
Where pale gardens generate
Pale gardens share their climate with dark forests, so they appear in the same kind of temperate inland terrain, often bordering a dark forest. They are much rarer than dark forests, and in older worlds they only appear in chunks generated after updating to 1.21.4.
The Overworld biome layout is shared by Java and Bedrock, so once both editions have the pale garden it generates in the same place for the same seed.
The creaking and what to collect
Pale oak trees, pale moss and hanging pale moss give the biome its grey look. Some trees hold a creaking heart: at night it spawns a creaking that only moves when no one is looking at it and cannot be hurt for good until you break the heart. Hurting the creaking makes its heart grow resin clumps on the nearby logs, and resin crafts resin bricks.
Eyeblossoms open at night and close in the day; they make orange or grey dye. The biome has no ambient music and few animals, and woodland mansions can stand inside it, so check the Woodland Mansion Finder too.

Questions
Which versions have the pale garden?
Java Edition 1.21.4 (the Garden Awakens drop) and later, and Bedrock 1.21.50 and later. Older versions have no pale garden to highlight.
Why does my old world not have a pale garden here?
Biomes only change in chunks generated after the update. If you explored the area before 1.21.4, those chunks keep their old dark forest or other biome.
Where does the creaking spawn?
Only from a creaking heart inside a pale oak tree in a pale garden, at night. Break the heart to stop it for good.
Can I find a pale garden with a command?
With cheats on, /locate biome minecraft:pale_garden. The map shows every pale garden at once, before you create the world.
