How to use the Cherry Grove Finder
The Cherry Grove Finder highlights every cherry grove in your seed and dims the rest of the map, so the pink patches stand out even when zoomed far out. Cherry groves arrived in 1.20 and grow on mountain slopes, which makes them easy to miss from spawn. Pick your edition and version, find the closest grove, and copy its coordinates.
- Enter your seed, then choose Java or Bedrock and a version from 1.20 onwards.
- Cherry groves are highlighted as soon as the map loads; everything else is dimmed. Zoom out to scan a wider area.
- Hover a pink patch to read its coordinates, or click to drop a marker you can find again later.
- Copy a link to share the exact view, or switch “Highlight biome” to look for a different biome.
Where cherry groves generate
Cherry groves are a mountain biome. Like meadows, they are picked for the plateaus and lower slopes of mountain ranges, so they appear in hilly inland terrain next to meadows, groves, snowy slopes and jagged peaks, never on flat plains or beaches.
They are rare but not tiny: one grove can cover several hundred blocks of slope. Because the Overworld biome layout has been shared by Java and Bedrock since 1.18, the same seed puts its cherry groves in the same places on both editions.
What you find in a cherry grove
Cherry trees give the pink cherry wood set (planks, doors, signs, boats and more) and drop cherry saplings. The ground is covered in grass and pink petals, which bees love, and pigs, sheep and rabbits spawn there. Pink petals can be collected with bare hands and crafted into pink dye.
Villages do not generate in cherry groves, so pair the map with the Village Finder if you want a base with villagers nearby. Worlds created before 1.20 only gain cherry groves in chunks generated after the update.

Questions
Which versions have cherry groves?
Java Edition 1.20 and Bedrock Edition 1.20 and every later version. Pick 1.20 or newer on the map; older versions have no cherry grove to highlight.
Is the cherry grove location the same on Java and Bedrock?
Yes. Since 1.18 both editions generate Overworld biomes from the same noise, so a seed has the same cherry groves on Java and Bedrock.
Why can't I see any cherry grove near spawn?
Cherry groves need mountainous terrain. If your spawn is in lowlands or near an ocean, zoom out: the nearest grove can be a thousand blocks or more away.
Can I find a cherry grove with a command?
Yes, in a world with cheats on use /locate biome minecraft:cherry_grove. The map shows every grove at once, without cheats and before you even create the world.
