How to use the Spawn Point Finder
This tool estimates the world spawn point for your seed and draws the spawn chunks — the area around spawn that stays loaded for farms. Turn on 'Spawn chunks' in the layers panel to see both the entity-processing and loaded areas.
- Enter your seed and version; the spawn marker and spawn chunks square appear near the world origin.
- Toggle 'Spawn chunks' under Layers to draw the 19×19 (entity ticking) and 23×23 (loaded) chunk areas, or 3×3 / 5×5 for 1.20.2+.
- Hover to read the spawn biome and exact coordinates, or copy a /tp command from the popup.
Questions
Why is the spawn point approximate?
The game picks the spawn by searching for a valid surface block near a seed-dependent position, which depends on full terrain generation. The map estimates the spot from the biome map, usually within a few blocks.
How big are spawn chunks?
Before 1.20.2: a 19×19 chunk entity-processing area inside a 23×23 loaded area. From 1.20.2: a 3×3 processing area inside 5×5 loaded chunks (adjustable with the spawnChunkRadius gamerule).
